A flower is not a flower

A flower is not a flower alone,

自分なりに訳してみました。

ひとつだけで咲いている花はない
一千もの生命がその花を取り囲み
満天の星空のような姿をあらわす
星空の光は辺りをやさしさで包み
奇跡はまさに生命そのものとなる
ひとつの花は星空の結晶のようだ

植物学者にして詩人のWilliam Gardinerの詩です。マイナーすぎて誰もしらないかな･･･。
禅問答のような雰囲気に惹きつけられてお気に入りです。
坂本龍一の曲に「A flower is not a flower」というのがあって、それでずっとこの言葉を
覚えていました。1996年のツアーをBunkamuraで聞いて感動しました。もう10年以上経ったのか･･･。
